Fake jobs and Inventory Recruiting Scam 2020

Beware of fake jobs and Inventory Recruiting Scam

2020 pandemic, loss of jobs, health scare and issues, family worries, financial problems, bills piling up and the list goes on and on.

Whether a person has been laid off, downsized, forced to take early retirement, or seen contract work dry up, losing employment is one of life’s most stressful experiences.
Aside from the obvious financial anguish, it can cause, the stress of losing a job can also take a heavy toll on our mood, relationships and overall mental and emotional health.

Now, the new problem is on the rise, adding an additional level of stress and problem on the job seekers plate of issues:
Inventory Recruiting - Fake job advertising
New fake Work From Home position started popping up everywhere. Fake job listings on job boards and on the mainstream job websites keep coming up.

You apply for a job, get invited to do an online job assessment test.
You spend hours and hours of preparing your job application, fine-tuning your resume and cover letter, looking forward to an opportunity, hoping and praying that someone will give you a call and invite you for an interview.

Just to get a message like this:

"They are no longer recruiting for the role!"

This job was advertised 10 days ago as a work from home opportunity.
2 rounds of online assessments,
video assessment...
and at the end, it was only an Inventory Recruiting exercise.

If you are not familiar with the term, Recruiters and HR professionals use fake jobs because recruiters don’t want to wait for a real job to come up to get the pool of candidates for a particular position and be in rush to make a decision.
This way, recruiters and HR professionals can have a list of potential candidates to invite them for an interview in case if the real opportunity opens up.

In the process,
Recruiters have stock pilled their email lists, hyped up their KPI quota and periodical targets.

In AU, It is against the law, to advertise fake jobs and you would expect that employers and recruiters would be more empathetic and mindful towards the job seekers taking into consideration the current situation.
Unfortunately, that is not the case - we still have the same problem and more than likely it will just get worse.

I can understand that recruiters need to do their job. I have no objections about that.
However,
how can you knowingly advertise a job that you know it doesn't exist?
How on Earth can someone advertise a fake job and give false hope to people who are desperately looking for an opportunity to feed their families and pay their bills?

All that while knowing they will send them a message like this:

Cruel, heartless and careless!

So many advertised jobs close without acknowledgement, application receipt and on top of all that, they will tell you not to ask for feedback.

Unethical, disturbing and unprofessional.

Fake jobs keep coming up and the law is super lenient towards them.

How to avoid work-at-home scams?

Scams related to working online jobs come in many forms: Call centre, Customer Service, sales, wire transfer schemes, claims processing, envelope stuffing, money recovery work, and other fraudulent offers.
Never take online jobs from home if you didn't have a video conference.
Make sure to ask the name of your interviewers so you can research the people you’ll be talking with to ensure they’re for real.

Make sure the job description sounds legit!

Most of the time, the job description is a dead giveaway that the job’s not what it seems.
If it sounds too good to be true - more than likely it's.

Vague description with a few bullet points, that describes getting the job will be quick and easy, it’s usually a good sign that the listing could be fake.

Research the company

Researching the company is a must. There are so many ways to find out what a company is like - check out a company’s website, social media presence, search on Linkedin about the key leadership personnel, look them up on review sites.

If the company doesn’t have a website, presence on social media, reviews and Linkedin presence - beware!

Ask questions - don't be shy!

Make sure to ask a lot of questions, so you’ll feel confident about taking the job.

Learn the exact details of the job, company and how you are getting paid.
If given answers don't make much sense the alarm bells should be going off pointing to a problem.

Never give any money for employment!
If a discussion comes up about paying for your own equipment, training or they asking you for any money as a way to get the job -  It is most certainly a scam.

Any job that requires you pay a fee to get the job should be an immediate red flag.
Honest employers train employees on their dime. You don’t have to pay for training or any other fee such as an application fee, or a processing fee.
Any requests to give your bank information, credit card or financial information is a typical scam job.

Friend of mine from France, asked me last night on Linkedin, as an accomplished Leader, how I see this situation?
What will happen now and if this pandemic will change something, anything in the way we, humans, will grow/live in the future?

We need kindness, love, integrity, honesty and human values now more than ever!

How is it that we never learn from the first go?

We always need 2nd and 3rd attempt with things to get it but this time, I hoped, most of the World will get a grip on the situation, have a clear path on how to create a better life and the foundation for future growth by helping each other.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

It will most definitely take some time to rebuild from this but we will get there. There are so many things we need to sort our very urgently but with great leadership and creative ideas, we can do this.

Some things are inevitable and people do what they must do or what they think is the best for them.

My employers, shut their business down and moved all operations to the Philippines.
95 of us lost jobs.
80% of employed are over 40 years of age.
I see a huge problem right there and I am in a constant brainstorming mode to find the way to help people over 40 to continue living..not just surviving and hoping for the best.

I am not sure what the future holds but one thing is certain - Unethical and unprofessional behaviour and people lacking honesty and integrity will continue to exploit every situation no matter how much damage they can cause to others.
And this pandemic is no different to them.

I hope this message will reach people in the right places and positions who can and will act to stop this nonsense.

But from me,
If you are an employer or a recruiter

IF you have a job to fill , advertise and look for the best candidate there is.

If you are SME or business that needs help, I offer you my help for free.
Leadership, Business development, Organisational Culture change, recruitment…Just ask.
I’m free.

If you don’t have a job to fill,

call it an Expression of interest.
Let people know that you don’t have a job to fill.

Please stop wasting Job Seekers time and effort with fake jobs and inventory recruiting and causing them and their families more grief and heartache.

I think it time for us to bring back humanity back into businesses and beyond.

If you agree with me and you see this as I do, a huge , cruel and unethical issue, please like and share this message and hopefully we will successfully reach people who can make necessary changes and put an end on this unethical behaviour.

Do this RIGHT NOW and YOU will be pleased you did

The Ultimate KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

We have talked about this topic briefly in every leadership and recruitment videos..in fact this topic is everywhere. However, still not accepted well.
I am not sure why but,
What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?
Let's Talk About it!

If you prefer to watch the video:

Kindness is a vehicle of love and tolerance.
Kindness is the the key to the golden door of empathy and emotional intelligence.
Unconditional love flows through specific channels of respect, integrity, honesty, human value, responsibility, forgiveness, kindness, and compassion — and these form the foundation of common sense leadership

Humanity needs love and kindness now more than ever -
Kindness costs absolutely nothing and requires a very little effort, yet too often many of us think that to be kind requires so much work and effort and to be kind is to give something more than a few kind and loving words.  Kindness is not a weakness  or waste of time - its a strength and accomplishment.

Words are the most powerful weapon and the consequences can be devastating. Words can make or break a person. Words can start a war.
Words can inflict the wounds so deep and so painful that are harder to heal than any other wound.
Our thoughts become our words and consequently We become our words,
You have the choice. The choice is yours.
You can either:be and  Think positive, think kindness, think love and put your words to the good use and express kindness and love.
or think negative and become walking talking negativity with who cares attitude.

Love knows no boundaries and Time is the most precious thing that we don’t have enough. Link them together every day in every way - be kind and spread the kindness.
Let me ask you something:
When was the last time… you’ve picked up a phone, sent an e-mail, left a voicemail or text message just to say “ I love you! ” to your loved ones?

Here is the challenge for you!

Stop whatever you are doing right now! ( obviously reading this post )
Pick up your phone,
Call or send a text message to your loved one in particular those you haven't heard from in a long time,
Just say " I just wanted to let you know that I love you! "
Send an e-mail, Facebook message, picture or whatever comes to mind that contains words "I love you”.
Once you have completed your challenge, comment here by placing the tag #spreadkindness

We live such a busy life so much so that we forget to express our love to our closest family and friends.
Express your love and gratitude to your loved at least once a day - It's soothing, joyous and it warms people's hearts.

People carry deep wounds in their hearts that have been inflicted by words of anger - kindness heals those wounds.Help them heal and ease their pain.
Be patient, kind and openminded. Tolerant and understanding.
The act of saying something kind, true, and honest is rewarding at least for two people.

Over time, our relationships and boundaries may start to erode.
Not because we want to, but because we don't pay much attention to what we don't do enough -
hence, we might develop complacency.
We can restore this by paying attention and not taking each other for granted and once a day say I love you to your closest.
It just reaffirms our feelings and resets boundaries of joy and respect.

Kindness is not just important around our family - kindness improves our quality of life in the workplace as well as in the community. It brings people together. Doing good for others feels good. Showing kindness to others is just as rewarding as receiving it from someone else.
Practicing kindness also has a profound effect our own mental & physiological health, helping us to become happier and compassionate towards others.
Kindness is the quality of being thoughtful, generous, and considerate. Affection, gentleness, warmth, concern, and care are words that are associated with kindness. Being kind often requires courage and strength
When was the last time you performed a Random act of kindness?
  • Hold the door open for someone.
  • Return someone's cart at the store.
  • Helped an elderly in the supermarket
  • Said good day to a complete stranger on the street
  • Helped someone accomplish a goal even they thought was impossible but you knew how to fix the problem.
  • Teach someone something new and so many more...

You see, none of these acts require donating the money or require supper effort but it demonstrates kindness.
So next time you’re walking down the street, smile and say Hello to a complete stranger,
take some of your old bread and feed the birds,
when you are cutting grass in your front yard, continue pass your fence boundary into the neighbours side.
Do something positive for someone - it’s rewarding.
For today, your challenge remains - Pick up a phone and call or text someone you haven’t heard from in a while and tell them that you love them.
and let me know in the comment section bellow how it feels.
Also,
What is your favourite love quote or poem? write it in the comment section.
If you are bi-lingual - How do you say " I love you " in your mother language.
Thank you very much for watching this video and if you feel like it, please subscribe to our channel.
Share this message of love, kindness and happiness - think positive and be positive.

Be well and stay safe and up until the next post and video,
please take care of yourself and each other.

4 Online Personality Employment Assessments - Over 500 live Questions -Tips and tricks

Online Personality Employment Assessments - 500+ questions

How to interpret Questions and Answer Personality Employment assessment tests.

Hi all, Thank you very much for all your questions and ongoing support. Greatly appreciated.

To answer some of your questions I would like to add a few tips and pointers to my videos and explanation on how to read the assessment questions and answer them.

First and foremost, Remember, employers’ prime objective is to find out how well you would fit in within the environment and team, attitude, how you approach tasks before you under the stress and how you communicate with others. Second, Just like in an applicant tracking system (ATS), each recruiter can set up the target keywords depending on a role which will look for these keywords within a received resume and application cover letter. If ATS finds what it was set to look for, it will pass the application and send it to the recruiter's inbox. If not, the automated system will reject the application and issue an automated response. The same applies to these online personality tests.

Personality tests vary in terms of weighted answers. These tests can be tweaked as per employers request and each answer carries assigned value. Some of the tests are time-limited and some not. Both tests have the capacity to track the time taken to answer questions and record your pace in answering these questions. The amount of time taken to answer these question could suggest to the recruiter or company that you are either composed, calm and collected or careless, indecisive or stressed.

Personality online pre-employment assessment - from Psych Central.Online test with 161 Questions for sales, Customer Service, Leadership and Managerial positions.

Before you start your assessment and answer any of the questions, consider the company size and read carefully role requirements and job description you are applying for. Company Size: If you are applying for a small size company, 1-20 employees, what are the chances of your career progress? 20-100 it really depends on their business vision and growth rate 100> Most of the time, companies over 100 employees love to promote people internally. If you are applying for a customer-facing role, leadership role or managerial role, all the requirements and what the employer needs to hear from you are in the position description. Read them thoroughly and highlight all the key elements. Let's say, in the position description, the employer mentioned that there is a huge opportunity for career development. How would you answer this assessment question: I'd like to be a boss? If you are on the disagree scale - that means you don't have ambition for personal and professional development. If you are neutral that means you don't have a clear vision and defined goals. If you are on the strongly agree side, this could be interpreted as the main purpose why you have applies for this position. It would indicate that at the first opportunity, you might jump the ship or look for the promotion options, without giving the employer chance to achieve the return on their investment. Answering "Agree" , would be the most suitable option in this case. ONLY use STRONGLY AGREE OR STRONGLY DISAGREE in the cases where the pure logic drives such answers. Do you like working with people? I care about safety! Health and wellbeing of my colleagues are important to me. Stealing from your employer is ok as long is not detected... and so on. Is there wrong or right answer to these questions? Absolutely YES! Example: HR professional roles are likely to be required to demonstrate management skills, effective communication skills, a structured and planned approach to tasks, organisational skills, empathy, emotional intelligence... Engineering professionals are likely to be required to demonstrate a prudent and calculated approach to work, work-safety attitude, organisational skills, calculated and collaborative mindset, ability to cope with pressure in the workplace, not taking any risks... Sales applicants are likely to be required to exhibit a competitive and adaptable nature, high motivation to achieve results, love working with people, not afraid to make a phone call, taking some calculated risks, being persistent and the ability to initiate and close sales. Supervisory positions would more than likely be demonstrated the decision-making abilities, organisational skills, problem-solving skills, collaboration and solid judgement, work well within the team environment, be able to speak up and argue the facts in polite manners and point out publically right from wrong. I work best as part of a team - Agree ( I can work autonomously as well ) I tend to avoid conflict - Agree ( If necessary I will stand up and protect my team members if they were accused of wrongdoing and I know they did nothing wrong) I am very goal-oriented - Strongly Agree ( People without goals and vision have no ambition and love to work in a chaotic state) I can be very vocal with my opinions - Agree ( I am not afraid to speak up - defending others, pointing out a mistake when necessary )

The reason I post these videos is for educational purposes and to help people understand the reasons behind these test. Also, to educate job seekers on reasons why employers are using them and understand the concept behind these tests. Another reason is to recognise the real and genuine tests from tests used for research purposes and tests used by many agencies as an inventory recruitment which is a pure waste of job seekers time and effort. In today's episode, I bring you a new online pre-employment test - Personality online test. Test that apparently gives employers an insight into your core values and core components of Who you are as an individual. How well you deal with your peers, managers, clients and customers. How well you deal with unforeseen circumstances and stressful situations. How well you bounce back from rejections and downfalls. Please leave us a comment in the comment section bellow if you would like me to make an extended version of this video with a commentary on how to approach these type of questions and how to answer them correctly. Get Ready for your job Interview. Please share this video with your friends and people that might benefit from learning about these tests. If you would like more tests to be posted, please let me know, like, subscribe and share our videos.
